Linear fusion rifle options in Destiny 2 are one of the most limited weapon options in Destiny 2 outside of trace rifles. There’s only a handful you can use, so let’s go over what the best linear fusion rifles are for PvE, PvP and Gambit in Destiny 2.
Best Linear Fusion Rifles Destiny 2 2020
Best for PvE: Line in the Sand
Season of Dawn changed the game a bit in Year 3 as it released the limited time Line in the Sand legendary linear fusion rifle. With the right perks, it can actually better than the exotic linear fusion rifles such as Sleeper Simulant, especially when you factor in that you can use it while still using an exotic weapon slot on something else.
The key for Line in the Sand reaching or exceeding the performance of other linear fusion rifles is nailing one or both of these perks: Firing Line and Rapid Hit.
This turn it into a very respectable end game weapon that can put up some decent damage. Is it better than something like Whisper of the Worm currently? No it isn’t. But, if you really want to use an exotic somewhere else, but still want a half way decent precision, long-range DPS weapon in your power weapon slot, Line in the Sand is the way to go.
Worth mentioning still is Arbalest, an exotic kinetic linear fusion obtained via a rare exotic world drop.. Arbalest fills a different niche. Arbalest is excellent at ripping the shields off of enemies. Dungeon runs such as Zero Hour or Nightfalls are great spot to use Arbalest. If you hate Borealis and Hard Light because, well, they aren’t great weapons aside from the ability to change elements, then consider Arbalest instead.
It will clear most shields in one or two quick shots, and hits very hard on unshielded enemies crit spots. Arbalest’s biggest weakness though is how quickly it can burn up ammo, so keep that in mind when creating a build.
