You can play Civilization 6 peacefully and just focus on working on your civ’s culture, or you can play like a monster, and develop dangerous weapons to decimate your opponents with. If you’re reading this now, you probably fall in the latter camp, and hey, that’s a totally valid way to play. Here’s how to launch nukes in Civilization 6.
Launching Nukes in Civilization 6
Thermonuclear bombs are pretty devastating in Civilization 6, and they can be used as powerful tools against your opponents. However, actually being able to get and use them will require you to put in a lot of legwork. We’re here to help.
First off, you’ll need to accrue Science points and invest heavily in the technology tree. Science points can be gained by building the right structures and implementing the right policies. Buildings like Universities will certainly help, and as you gain more Science points, the more opportunities you’ll have to develop your tech even further and progress through the technology tree.
On the tree, you’ll want to go for the Advanced Ballistics and Combined Arms nodes. Do note that these are pretty far into the tree, so you’ll probably only be able to unlock it late into your run.
Once you have those two nodes unlocked, you can then choose the Build Nuclear Device project once your project slot opens up. Do note that once it is built, you’ll need to have a Military Engineer build a silo for it.
After that, deploy a bomber unit or a submarine to actually launch the nukes. Use their unit action once the nuke has been prepped at the silo, and you’ll be able to launch it at an enemy.
That’s all you need to know about how to launch nukes in Civilization 6. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
