It’s been a few years since its release on PC, but Civilization 6 continues to be one of those evergreen games that you can keep coming back to and find new ways to enjoy each run of it. There are several ways of winning the game, and one of them is through a religious victory. Here’s how to spread religion in Civilization 6.
Spreading Religion in Civilization 6
If you’re going for a religious victory in Civ 6, your main objective is to amass a large amount of Faith, and you can use those Faith points to hire envoys and emissaries who will then visit other civilizations to spread the religion you’ve founded.
Founding a Religion
First things first, during your early turns in Civilization 6, you’ll earn a few Faith points per turn and you’ll soon be able to found a Pantheon. When the game prompts you to do so, choose a Pantheon from the menu, then confirm your selection.
As you continue playing and building structures, you’ll then be able to invite a Great Person to your civ. Your best bet here is to choose a Great Prophet, and this will allow you to found a proper religion. Now, all you have to do is start accruing Faith points and hire envoys.
How to Get Faith
Faith points can be acquired each turn in Civ 6, and you can increase that amount by building proper structures and wonders. Policies can also help to boost your Faith earned, and you’ll always want to focus on getting religion-related buildings and policies to maximize your gains.
We’ve listed the appropriate policies down below that you should go for:
- God King
- Triangular Trade
As you gain more Faith, you can start deploying envoys and emissaries from your troops menu. This is essentially the same as getting combat units, but instead of killing other combat units, you’ll be expending them to spread religion instead.
During your turns, you’ll want to send these envoys and emissaries into the territories of other civs, then use their actions to increase points for your religion there. Continue this loop of accruing Faith, sending envoys out, and spreading religion, and you’ll eventually carve your way towards a religious victory in Civilization 6.
That’s all you need to know about how to spread religion in Civilization 6. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
