Sakura Wars: How to Get Trust & What it Does

Sakura Wars‘ blending of the visual novel and action genres leads to some interesting gameplay mechanics, not least of which being how your interactions with characters impacts their performance in battle. This might be harder to utilize than it first appears though, which is why we’re here with a guide on how to get Trust and what it does in Sakura Wars.

How to Get Trust and What it Does in Sakura Wars

Simply put, the Trust mechanic in Sakura Wars acts as a measurement of how well you’re doing with a certain character’s route; or rather, how often you’re selecting the proper dialogue choices to get them to like you.

This generally means choosing the kinder or more considerate dialogue option over the self-centered or perverted one. Likewise, the characters will usually give context clues as to which answer will provide an increase in trust, so you shouldn’t have much difficulty selecting the right answers.

You’ll also know you’ve increased your trust with a character when a light-hearted melody plays and the character responds positively to what you’ve said. The longer the melody plays, the more Trust you’ll earn with that character.

This mechanics applies to almost every important character in the game, and accruing more of it opens more potential interactions with said characters that you wouldn’t see should your affinity with them be low.

How Trust Impacts Battles

It’s worth noting, though, that Sakura Wars’ Trust mechanics also impacts how difficult or easy the game’s battle segments will be.

The higher your trust with the main cast of mech pilot characters is, the higher their Morale will be at the start of battle. This can lead to valuable bonuses like increased health and damage, and can be the difference between a slog through enemy waves or a breezy sprint through a mission.

That’s all there is to know about how to get Trust and what it does in Sakura Wars. For more on the game, check out some of its trailers covering who the game’s demonic antagonists are and who the artists behind the game’s character designs are.
