The monsters just keep on coming in Resident Evil 3 Remake. The closer you get to making it out of Raccoon City, the tougher things get. That’s why you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss any weapons along the way; especially, the gun with the most stopping power in the entire game. Here’s how to get the Magnum (Lightning Hawk) in Resident Evil 3.
How to Get the Magnum in Resident Evil 3
Of all the guns in the game, the magnum is by far and away the easiest to miss. And if you leave the area in which it’s located before you’ve realized your mistake then it’s gone for good — you’ll either have to reload a save or just soldier on without it.
The area in question is the hospital. The Magnum is located in the hospital Courtyard in a weapon case.
The question is how to get it, because if you’re like us, you’ll be certain that you’ve explored the entirety of the hospital and found no way to get that pesky item that’s visible on the other side of the courtyard.
The trick is that although you’ve explored the hospital with Carlos, it’s only Jill who is actually able to find her way down to that area of the yard. This is because to get the necessary window you have to crawl underneath some wreckage, which Carlos is too big to do.
To find the Magnum, return to the 2F level of the Hospital once you have taken control of Jill and look for a passage blocked by a bunch of hospital equipment. You’ll see a space to crawl through.
Now you have crawled under you can jump through a broken window and down into the Courtyard to find the Magnum or Lightning Hawk .47.
As you’ll soon discover, this bad boy is seriously powerful and absolutely worth taking the time to find. It’s also upgradeable, too, with an extended barrel that helps pack even more of a punch (read where to find the extended barrel here).
Remember, to make Magnum ammo you’ll want to combine two high-grade gunpowders.
