Fans have been asking for a remake of the classic PS1 game for years, and the company has finally delivered. Getting the Gil Up Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Gil is the main currency used in Final Fantasy games, and it can actually be pretty hard to come by in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. You’ll get a little bit of it from winning battles, but by and large, you won’t be able to amass such a large sum of it that you can afford to spend it all on items and Materia, which is a bummer.

The good news is that you can increase the amount of money you get by equipping the Gil Up Materia, which becomes available to you once you reach chapter 16. In this chapter, you’ll come across the Recreational Facility as you progress through Shinra HQ, where you can take part in training missions with the Shinra Combat Simulator.

Choose the mission titled Two-Person Team vs. High Flyers, which costs 400 Gil for participation. You’ll need to clear five rounds of flying enemies to get your reward. We suggest taking Barret for obvious reasons, along with either Cloud or Tifa, whoever you’re more comfortable with. Make sure to have Lightning Materia equipped, as most of the enemies will be vulnerable to Thunder spells.

In addition to that, consider bringing the Pray and Revival Materia as well for easy healing and emergency revivals in case someone goes down, as you won’t be able to use items.

Once you clear the mission, you’ll be rewarded with the Gil Up Materia, which increases your monetary gains by 100%. Equip this on any character to reap its benefits.
