While a character’s guard is active, you’ll decrease any incoming damage substantially. However, you also won’t be able to move until you release your guard, and your guard can be broken should you take a guard-breaking hit.

When You Should Use Your Guard

With these factors in mind, there are a few things to keep in mind about when you should Guard in One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows.

When your enemy has locked themselves into an attack, or is about to unleash a Killer Move against you, it’s almost always a good idea to use your guard. Doing so will allow you to escape heavy damage, and give you time to come up with a counter attack for when their barrage subsides.

On the other hand, if your enemy is visibly charging up an attack or waiting for you to drop your guard, it’s best to avoid using your guard and focus on dodging. This will allow you to get in a better position and keep from taking unnecessary damage once you drop your defenses.

Hopefully this cleared up how to guard in One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. For more on the game, check out one of its latest trailers showing just how much more powerful Saitama is than everyone else.
