2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a smash-hit since its release, with the multiplayer mode dominating players’ game time for months now. Of course, you’ll always want to stand out in the crowd of online players, and one way to do this is to have a colored clan tag in Modern Warfare.
Getting a Yellow Colored Clan Tag in Modern Warfare
It’s actually incredibly easy to get a colored clan tag if you know what you’re doing. We’ve broken the steps down below so you can get one for yourself.
Setting Up a Regiment
First you need to go to the Social menu. This can be accessed by pressing Triangle on PS4, or Y on Xbox One.
Once here, make your way over to the Regiments tab. You can now either press Square/ X to Create a Regiment (or Manage your existing one if you’ve already completed this step), or press Triangle/ Y to join one that you’ve been invited to.
Getting Your Yellow Clan Tag
After setting up your Regiment, you’ll then be able to change what you want your clan tag to be. This can be any combination of a few letters, as long as it’s not obscene.
Once you’ve done this, go back to the multiplayer menu screen and select the Barracks option. Then go into the ‘Identity’ option and you’ll have ‘Clan Tag’ right at the top.
All you need to do now is press Square on PS4 or X on Xbox One while you have the ‘Clan Tag’ option highlighted, and it’ll bring up a screen asking you to select your chosen tag. Choose your Regiment’s Clan Tag and press Square on PS4, X on Xbox One, or R on PC.
Once the screen disappears, you should now see that you’ve got a yellow or gold colored clan tag in Modern Warfare. That’s all there is to it.
How to Get All Clan Tag Colors
There are ways to get other clan tag colors in Modern Warfare, but you’ll need to ensure you’ve got a mouse and keyboard that you can connect to your PS4 or Xbox One.
Once you’ve done this, don’t use your controller to interact with the game. You can only have a clan tag of three letters when changing to a different color. This is because at the beginning of your clan tag, you’re going to enter one of the following codes, depending on the color you want your clan tag to be:
- ^0 – Black
- ^1 – Red
- ^2 – Green
- ^3 – Yellow
- ^4 – Blue
- ^5 – Light Blue
- ^6 – Purple
- ^7 – White
For example, if you wanted a red clan tag of “MLG” you’d enter the following in the clan tag section: “^1 MLG”
