How to Unlock All New Classes in Fire Emblem Cindered Shadows

In the Cindered Shadows DLC, the four new classes are: Trickster, War Monk/Cleric, Valkyrie, and Dark Flier. As you play through the Side Story, you’ll get access to the four new playable characters as well, all equipped with the new special classes.

However, once you beat the first chapter of the Side Story, these classes will become available in the main game as well.

While in Byleth’s personal quarters, choose the Certifications option from the off day menu, and you’ll find the four new classes under the Special Classes category. Do note that instead of using regular Seals to unlock them, you’ll need an item called the Abyssian Exam Pass.

The requirements for the classes are as listed below:

  • Trickster: Need to have Thief unlocked, Sword: B, Faith: B
  • War Monk/Cleric: Need to have Priest unlocked, Brawling: B+, Faith: C+
  • Dark Flier: Reason: B+, Flying: C
  • Valkyrie: Reason: B, Riding: B

The good thing about the new classes from Cindered Shadows is that they add a ton of diversity to your lineup, with hybrid jobs that can perform well in both melee and magic, as well as mounted magic users that excel in dark magic.

These jobs are available to all characters from the base game as well, not just the four new characters, so you can experiment with them and see how they fit into your party.

To recap, here’s how to unlock all new classes in Fire Emblem Cindered Shadows:

  1. Complete the first chapter of the Cindered Shadows Side Story.

  2. Load up your save file from the base game.

  3. Check the Certifications menu, and you’ll see a new Special Classes category.

Do note that you’ll need Abyssian Exam Passes to unlock them.
