The city of Rapture is a dangerous place, and in order to make your way through its leaking hallways, you are going to need all the help you can get. Here is how to get Nitroglycerin in BioShock.

How to Get Nitroglycerin in BioShock
After Fort Frolic, Jack makes his way to Hephaestus, intending to gain access to the personal office of Andrew Ryan himself. Of course, as is so often the case, mitigating circumstances force Jack off the beaten track in order to reach his objective.
As part of the plot, Jack will need to assemble three different components in order to construct an EMP bomb, and finding Nitroglycerin is required in order to complete it.
After proceeding through the Lower Workshop, you will come across the office of one Supervisor Kyburz, an Australian engineer who is the Chief supervisor here in Hephaestus.
You can either hack the door or simply enter the code (its the date of Australia Day, 0126).
Once inside, be aware of the various Trap Bolts set up about the office. Use your Telekinesis to safely disarm them.
You can see the Nitroglycerin charge from here, but it is behind a plate of impenetrable glass.
Thankfully, the solution is nearby. On the side of Kyburz’s desk is a button that will lower the plate of glass.
Beware, there is a turret behind it, and it can do massive damage if you aren’t prepared. Either destroy it or hack it to proceed.
You can now pick up the charge of Nitroglycerin, and you will be one step closer to your goal of reaching Ryan.

To recap, here’s what you need to do:
- Enter Kyburz’s office in Hephaestus
The code is 0126.
- Disable the Trap Bolts and lower the plate glass
Use Telekinesis to safely disarm the Trap Bolts, and interact with the button on the side of Kyburz’s desk to lower the plate glass.
- Destroy the Turret and take the Nitroglycerin charge
Hack or destroy the Turret hidden behind the plate glass, and take the Nitroglycerin in order to proceed.
