Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One Receives Extension

Infinity Ward announced today that season one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is receiving a “one-time” extension, pushing the end of the season to Feb. 11.

This isn’t the only news, as there will be added content, including game modes and playlists, to accompany the extra time. To help get you through what you might still need to do, Modern Warfare will be getting double XP (2XP) across the board, with weapon and tier advancement boosted alongside level progression.

Infinity War’s message is as follows:

Over the next few weeks, a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow weapon, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more in the Store to discover. To make room for all that activity, we are making a one-time extension of Season One – it’s now ending on February 11. During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two.

A “one-time” extension seemingly only applies to this season. This means future seasons could see their own extensions, and if this is anything to go by, Infinity War will be packing them to the brim.

This news comes not long after Infinity War talked about upcoming content for Modern Warfare, such as more loadouts, 3v3 gunfight, and more tournaments.
