Deck 13 Teases The Surge 2’s The Kraken DLC and Premium Edition

When it comes to DLC, you never know what to expect from Deck 13 Interactive. The first The Surge game featured an evil theme park and an equally evil old west setting. The Surge 2 continues the trend with its own out-of-left-field DLC, The Kraken.

With a name like “The Kraken,” you would assume the expansion includes an underwater adventure where players have to explore the depths of the ocean and fight off giant spider crabs with chainsaw claws. Instead, The Surge 2’s DLC takes place on the VBS Krakow, a giant aircraft carrier that has been converted into a suburban getaway for the affluent citizens of Jericho City.

The Kraken comes with everything a good piece of souls-like DLC needs, including a new storyline, new weapons and armor, and plenty of new enemies. Players will fight malfunctioning security drones, robot pirates, and an imposing boss, each with unique abilities and strategies. Moreover, players will uncover the Krakow’s dark secrets as they delve into this DLC, because no dystopian vacation getaway is ever what it seems.

The good news does not end there, though. Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive will soon release The Surge 2: Premium Edition. This comes with all of the game’s DLC, including the Kraken, the URBN Gear Pack, the Public Enemy Weapon Pack, and the Jericho’s Legacy Gear Pack.

The Kraken and The Surge 2: Premium Edition will release January 16th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. But, if you own the season pass, you can download The Kraken on January 14th.
