Pokemon Sword & Shield is the series’ grandest and most ambitious title yet, featuring an open-world sandbox for the first time ever. The core gameplay loop remains pretty much unchanged, though, and in addition to working your way through the story and beating local Trainers in the process, you’re tasked with catching an 800 Pokemon strong Pokedex. Not all Pokemon are found in the same way, though, so here’s how to get Togedemaru in Sword & Shield if you’re struggling.
How to Get Togedemaru in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Togedemaru is Electric and Steel type Pokemon that first made an appearance in Generation VII. It returns in Sword & Shield but it’s extremely elusive.
The first thing to note is that, yes, Togedmaru is a catchable Pokemon. You won’t need to trade for it or take down a Max Raid Battle or such like to acquire it.
Unfortunately, while it’s location isn’t hard to visit, Togedamaru is an extremely rare spawn. It can be found at Route 8 Overworld section in all weather, but the chances of it actually appearing are slim. Make sure you keep your search to the sandy area to the south, rather than the snowy area to the north.
Obviously, because it’s such a rare spawn you will want to use Ultra Balls to maximize your chances of a catch.
There is actually another location that you might have better luck finding a Togedemaru at. The non-overworld Lake of Outrage area yields a slightly better chance during a Snowstorm.
