To start drifting in Mario Kart Tour, simply press your finger on the screen. This will cause your character and kart to begin drifting, which you’ll need to then control by moving your finger to the left and right on the screen. Removing your finger from the screen will end the drift and immediately use any turbo you’ve built up.

Tips for Drifting & Getting Ultra Mini Turbo

There are a number of different ways you can control Mario Kart Tour, but a number of players claim that the best setup to get this done is to choose the ‘Smart Steering’ control option, and the ‘Manual’ option when it comes to Drift control.

What you now want to do is make sure that when you come to a corner, you’re in the right position on the road. If you’re turning right, you want to be on the left side of the track.

As you begin coming up to the turn, place your finger in the middle of the screen. This gives you the optimal amount of control over your drift.

Continuing on from the example we’re using with the right turn, you then want to slowly move your finger over to the right-hand side of the screen. This will cause your kart to start turning/ drifting more heavily over to the left.

Moving your finger slowly is therefore imperative to getting this right, as it gives you all the control you need to correct if you under or oversteer.

As you need to straighten out, simply move your finger over to the left-hand side of the screen. This will cause you to stay in the drift, but go in more of a straight line.
