How to Send Pokemon on Poke Jobs in Pokemon Sword & Shield

First things first, you won’t be able to unlock the Poke Jobs function until you’ve progressed a little bit in the game. Specifically, you need to make it to the train station, past the Wild Area, and into the first major city: Motostoke.

Once there, you’ll be directed to the Poke Center, where you can examine the Rotom terminal to get started with Poke Jobs. Simply interact with the terminal, choose the Poke Jobs option, and you’ll see a list of available jobs along with their recommendations.

Each Job listing will usually recommend that you send a specific type of Pokemon, and that will yield the best results. You can only send Pokemon that are currently in PC boxes, and you cannot send any from your currently active party.

What They Do

Poke Jobs in Pokemon Sword & Shield are a great way of helping your Pokemon level up even when they’re not in your party. They’ll gain experience points, allowing them to get stronger.

If you can afford to do so, you should definitely send them out on Jobs for longer periods of time to maximize the experience gains and other rewards you can get for it. If you don’t want to put in the time to grind out levels for your B-Team, send them out on a Job and make use of them later.
