Once you collect enough Mysterious Components to build the Rocket Radar you’ll be able to track down Team Go Rocket Leaders. They’re tough, but this guide will help you learn how to beat Arlo in Pokemon Go.
How to Beat Team Go Rocket Leader Arlo in Pokemon Go
First, we need to look at what mons Arlo has in his team. The first one is always the same, but opponents two and three can vary considerably. Here are all of Arlo’s possible Pokemon:
- Pokemon 1
- Scyther (Bug/Flying)
- Pokemon 2
- Crobat (Flying/Poison)
- Gyarados (Water/Flying)
- Magnezone (Electric/Steel)
- Pokemon 3
- Scizor (Bug/Steel)
- Charizard (Fire/Flying)
- Dragonite (Dragon/Flying)
Taking out Arlo’s Scyther is as easy as sending out a Rampardos, Tyranitar, or Rhyperior. Just blast that flying bug with some rocks to make short work of it.
Fire-, Electric-, Flying-, and Ice-types also have an advantage here, but Rock Pokemon will hit two type weaknesses at the same time.
This is where it starts to get a little more difficult. If Crobat comes out, then you can keep your Rock-type in there. Electric-types like Zapdos, Electivire, or Raikou are viable too and will hit Gyarados hard.
If you get Magnezone, then you’ll want to throw a Fire- and Ground-type Pokemon out there. Groudon, Garchomp, Excadrill, or Heatran should be good enough to get the job done. Avoid using Moltres since it’s weak to Electric attacks.
Scizor can easily be taken out by Fire-type attackers like Heatran, Magmortar, or Chandelure. Moltres would be a good option too if it wasn’t for the possible Magnezone for Arlo’s second Pokemon.
If you get super lucky, then you might get Crobat and Charizard. In that case, then you’ll just want to keep your Rock-type Pokemon in there to finish the job.
Rock-types are even strong against the intimidating Dragonite, but Ice-types are the best choice here since they hit two weaknesses at once. Mamoswine, Ice Beam Mewtwo, and Weavile are the best options here.
Best Pokemon Team to Beat Arlo
You could build a team with Rock, Fire, and Ice Pokemon, but if you substitute Ice for Electric, then you would have the safest team.
Ice hits Scyther, Crobat, and Dragonite hard, but if you run into Gyarados, then you’ll want to have an Electric-type on your side.
My ideal team for beating Arlo is:
- Rampardos (Smack Down|Rock Slide)
- Raikou (Thunder Shock|Wild Charge)
- Chandelure (Fire Spin|Overheat)
If you don’t have these Pokemon, then any combination of other strong Rock-, Electric-, and Fire-types that I mentioned should do the trick.
