First of all, we get to see Saeko Mukoda in action for the first time. Previous gameplay didn’t include her.

The gameplay showcases plenty of JRPG-style turn-based combat, the “delivery help” summons, and special attacks.

Then we see a visit to Hello Work, where you can change your characters’ jobs.

Another interesting aspect showcased is the ability to perform activities with friends to deepen the relationship with them, and the minigame prompting protagonist Kasuga Ichiban to stay awake while watching an old masterpiece at the movie theater.

The inevitable karaoke is also included in today’s demonstration. It’s similar to previous Yakuza games, but this time around the full party enjoys the activity together.

You can watch it below.

In other Yakuza: Like a Dragon news, a demo will be playable at various events in major Japanese cities throughout the month of November.

The demo will be a more advanced version of what was shwcased at Tokyo Game Show, with new combat elements and new minigames.

While this wasn’t announced, the usual pattern for Yakuza games is that this kind of local events usually preceeds a public release of the demo. Hopefully, Sega will do the same with Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Last, but not least, we get the reveal of the box art for Japan, which you can see at the bottom of the post.

If you’d like to see more about the game, you can check out the latest reveal, which, combined with the previous one, shows how the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio appears to be taking a page from Persona’s book.

You can also check out the original reveal, the first trailer with English subtitles,  more trailers and gameplayeven more clips, another batch of videos, the latest one, and  another gallery.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will launch in Japan on January 16, 2020, exclusively for PS4. It’ll also come west later next year.
