The Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2 brings with it a whole host of new Legendary weapons to collect, most of which can only be obtained through special Essence quests. The Essence of Rage will reward you with a special Shotgun, though you’ll need to obtain a very specific item first. How to Get Fangs of Shun’Gath in Destiny 2
Before you go off gallivanting on the Moon, you’ll first need the Essence of Rage quest item, which is obtained pretty randomly in the game. From our experience, it seems to have a higher drop rate through Nightmare Hunts, so that might be your best bet.
The quest requirements are as follows:
- Get 120 Super kills
- Get the Fangs of Shun’Gath
Getting 120 Super kills isn’t too difficult at all, though it is a bit time-consuming. As for the Fangs themselves, you’ll need to go to the World’s Grave area on the Moon.
Getting to the World’s Grave
Unlike most other areas on the Moon, the World’s Grave isn’t explicitly marked on your map, so it can be a little tricky to find. What you want to do is head to the Temple of Crota, and descend through the level to reach the boss room where you fought Omnigul during the Shadowkeep campaign.
We’ve included a screenshot down below to help you locate the Temple of Crota.
Simply take your Sparrow through the Anchor of Light, take a right and head into the small narrow path, and you’ll be at the Temple. Head in, and descend all the way down to reach the World’s Grave, and you’ll find yourself in the boss room.
Once here, look for a Thrall-type enemy named Shun’Gath. Kill it to obtain your quest item and turn it in for your reward.

- From the Moon, go through the Anchor of Light and take the small road that heads right to reach the Temple of Crota.
- Enter the Temple and make your way down the level to reach the World’s Grave.
