Destiny 2 Essence of Obscurity

As you play through the story campaign in Shadowkeep, you’ll receive the Essence of Obscurity item that lets you get the Dreambane Legendary SMG. The requirements are as follows:

  • Complete activities
  • Get SMG kills
  • Get the Withered Plumes

The first two requirements are very straightforward, but the game doesn’t offer much help when it comes to collecting the Withered Plumes. That’s where we come in.

Where to Get Withered Plumes in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep

The Withered Plumes can be found in the Circle of Bones area, which is at the very bottom of Hellmouth.

Once you land on the Moon, head towards Hellmouth and keep going down till you reach the bottom. You’ll pass the Hall of Wisdom before reaching the Circle of Bones, and once you’re there, look out for a hole in the wall and head there. The Withered Plumes you’re looking for will be right next to the hole.

After that, just complete the Essence of Obscurity and bring it back to the Lectern of Enchantment to collect your weapon. If you don’t like the perks for it, you can always purchase another Essence with a Phantasmal Core and redo the quest steps.

That’s all you need to know about where to find Withered Plumes for the Essence of Obscurity in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep. Be sure to check our Shadowkeep guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
