How to Switch Weapons in Ghost Recon Breakpoint

As with other third-person shooters, stealth and action games, Ghost Recon Breakpoint allows you to switch out weapons with a simple button press; that being the Triangle button on PlayStation 4 and the Y button on Xbox One.

The controls are laid out below for your reference.

Pressing the button on either console will swap out whichever weapon you currently have equipped for whichever weapon you currently have assigned to your inventory.

You can swap out your equipped weapon at most any time, whether you’re safely hidden behind cover or making a mad dash through a firefight toward the enemy.

When You Should Switch Weapons

Of course, there are some moments that are better than others to switch weapons in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

If, for example, you spot an enemy from a distance that would be more susceptible to shots from a rifle than those from a pistol, it would be beneficial to switch your equipment before they spot you rather than after to ensure you get a shot off on them first.

It’s also better to swap your equipped firearm out while in the safety of cover. Though brief, there is a delay between swapping out a weapon and being able to fire it, leaving you open to fire from your enemies if you’re exposed.

To that end, aim to be in cover or at the very least out of an enemy’s line of sight before you try to swap out your weapon.

Hopefully, this cleared up how to switch weapons in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki as well as our other guides on topics like what the max level cap is and how to hold your breath.
