Fairy Tail Developers “Taking Seriously” Requests for Xbox One Version

Since Koei Tecmo has published its anime games on Xbox One before, including the Attack on Titan series, Twinfinite asked Keisuke Kikuchi if the developer is considering a port on Microsoft’s console.

Interestingly, Kikuchi-san’s answer wasn’t negative.

“Xbox isn’t exactly our forte in terms of Gust titles, but with the announcement trailer, to our surprise, we did receive so many comments spearheaded by the American gamers asking for an Xbox version.

We aknowledge that fact, and we take it very seriously.”

Kikuchi-san actually turned the questiona around on me, asking whether I think that it’d be a good thing to release an Xbox One version.

For the record, I simply responded that (to my knowledge) with the tools available nowadays ports from PS4 or PC to Xbox One are relatively unchallenging and inexpensive to achieve, so giving it a try probably can’t hurt.

To that, Kikuchi-san simply answered “We’ll think about it.”

If you’d like to see more, you can check out the original announcement trailer, gameplay footage from a yesterday, and new screenshots from earlier today.

Fairy Tail will be released for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020.
