Now that the popular Zero Escape visual novel series has concluded, creator and writer Kotaro Uchikoshi has released his new work, titled AI: The Somnium Files. Just like the previous, this game features investigative sections and puzzle-solving. Here’s how to change to the Japanese voices and audio track in AI Somnium Files.
How to Change to Japanese Voices and Audio Track in AI Somnium Files
AI Somnium Files comes with both English and Japanese audio tracks, and you can swap between them anytime you wish.
To do this, bring up the menu by pressing the Square button, then select Options. From here, you’ll see a full list of options you can fiddle with, from the controls, sound, to text display. At the very bottom of the list, you’ll see Language.
All you have to do is choose Japanese voices, then exit the menu. Now, all the characters will swap over to their Japanese voices and audio track. The subtitles will still be displayed in your default language, though, so you don’t have to worry about not understanding what’s being said or discussed in the story.
While the English dub is pretty solid, some players may prefer to switch over to the native Japanese audio track for a more authentic experience, especially considering that the game itself is set in Japan.
- Open the Menu by pressing Square
- Select Options
- Choose ‘Language’ at the bottom of options that appear.
- Select ‘Japanese’ for voices and exit the menu.
AI Somnium Files blends the gameplay of Zero Escape into a nice murder mystery package. You’ll be investigating crime scenes by pointing and clicking, and talking to key witnesses, while also engaging in escape room puzzles as you take a deep dive into a person’s mind to uncover whatever they’re hiding or repressing.
That’s all you need to know about how to change to Japanese voices in AI Somnium Files. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
