The puzzle at Black Rock involving the Punch Cards is arguably the most confusing moment in all of Remedy’s Control. Old Boys Club: Solving the Black Rock Punch Card Puzzle in Control
Like we mentioned above, this one part of the Old Boys Club mission can be a doozy. This is because it involves not only making sense of scribblings on a white board from Darling that are up to interpretation, but also there’s a bit of trial and error involved on top of that.
What you’re supposed to do is find consistencies across all three of the white boards that are strewn about at Control’s Black Rock lab location during the Old Boys Club mission, and then play around with the various suggestions Darling made to switch things around.
Different people internalize the suggestions that Darling is making in different ways so it can make it a bit confusing. Also the frustratingly loud buzzer when you get it wrong will definitely make you rage if you’re at it for a while.
The first thing you have to do before solving the Black Rock puzzle for the Old Boys Club mission is pick up all the punch cards.
That’s easy enough, just do a lap around the area and you’ll find all of them. Just make note that there’s a small upstairs area as well where you’ll find one.
After that, you need to place the punch cards in the correct terminal. There are five total and once you have them in the right spot, you hit the big red button at the center of the Black Rock lab and you’ll be allowed to proceed with the main story of Control.
