Streets of Rogue: How to Save Your Game

streets of rogue, how to save

The weird and wonderful Streets of Rogue blends roguelite design with the sort of player choice you’d find in an immersive-sim like Deus Ex, and it comes together brilliantly. But as you work your way through its myriad of randomly generated levels, you might find yourself wondering exactly how the save systems works. Here’s how to save in Streets of Rogue.

How to Save Your Game in Streets of Rogue

As you might have guessed given that there’s no obvious option, Streets of Rogue features an automatic save option. However, it’s important to understand exactly when this activates so that you don’t lose any progress unnecessarily.

Streets of Rogue saves at the end of each floor, so as soon as you’ve cleared a floor you can be safe in the knowledge that everything has been saved up until that point. But because the game randomly generates levels, what comes next is likely to change.

Let’s say that you’ve completed one floor and continue to the next, then you die. You might reload the game and find that the next level is completely different. That all being said, in our experience the game is very likely to boot the same level the next time around. But it’s certainly not guaranteed.

What you certainly do want to make sure you do is shut the game down properly. To do so, be sure to hit “Quit game” at the bottom of the pause menu when you’re ready to call it quits. This will ensure that the game saves properly and you won’t lose your progress.

That’s everything you need to know about how to save in Streets of Rogue. For more useful information on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite. If you can’t find what you’re after, feel free to sound off in the comment section below and we’ll do our best to help you out.
