Sonic the Hedgehog is returning to Cartoon Network in the form of a special appearance in the hit show OK KO! Let’s Be Heroes.
Attendees at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 got a first look at the Blue Blur and his genius sidekick fox brother making their way into Lakewood Plaza Turbo.
The clip begins with KO emulating Sonic’s iconic poses while pumping up Enid and Radicles for another extraordinary yet regular day of protecting their store from bad guys, but they’re too tired from playing video games all night, so they decide to sleep in on the counter. Enter Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails bursting through the double doors of Gar’s, leaving KO starstruck.
Set in the retro-futuristic year of 201X, OK KO! Let’s Be Heroes follows kid hero KO in his quest to become the greatest hero of all time while working at Gar’s Bodega, a hero supply shop, with his best friends Enid and Radicles as well as other heroes who live and work around Lakewood Plaza Turbo.
Every hero is legendary in KO’s eyes, so it’s no surprise to see Sonic spin dash his way into a world that’s ironically inspired by the cute design of Yoshi’s Island.
