Towards the end of the Main Story Quest of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, you are asked to find a spot on the map… without a quest marker (gasp!). If you’re stuck, or can’t be bothered, we’re going to go over how to find the survey point needed and the City of the Ancients structure location in FFXIV: Shadowbringers.

City of the Ancients Main Story Quest Location in FFXIV Shadowbringers
It’s pretty rare for Yoshi-P and his dev team crew to ask players to go anywhere in FFXIV without the help of a quest marker, but in one particular main story quest, City of the Ancients which takes place in The Tempest, you’re asked to do just that. Listen it’s not that bad, all of FFXI was like this… MMORPG players these days!
Y’shtola gives you a good enough clue for the location of FFXIV’s City of the Ancients on the completion of the previous objective: head towards the northwest location of the map. Also, you know that you’re looking for a high enough location for you to properly survey the building that you’re looking for.
If you’re here, you want the location of the City of the Ancients to be made easy for you, so we’re going to do just that. Head to point: in The Tempest. You’re trying to get up a hill overlooking a run-down structure. On your approach of the structure, you’ll see a Survey Point, examine that to complete the objective.
