During the Treehouse Live coverage from E3 2019, Nintendo and Square Enix showcased plenty of gameplay of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition.
We get to see plenty of the new features that are included in the game, including the orchestral soundtrack, the new mounts, and much more. It certainly feels like a radically improved version compared to what many of us have already played (if you don’t consider graphics, which are sensibly downgraded to accommodate the weaker hardware).
We even get to see the option to enjoy the brand new Japanese voices in action instead of the English voiceover.
Incidentally, if you’re not interested in visual, we get to see plenty of the 2D mode derived from the 3DS version (which never made it west) and the altar that lets us visit past Dragon Quest Worlds in 2D.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch on September 27, as we learned yesterday during the Nintendo Direct. You can also watch a trailer showcased during Square Enix’s own E3 presentation.
