Getting the Austringer Hand Cannon in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted introduces two new ways to get the Austringer Hand Cannon: Patrols & Nightmare Events in Derelict Leviathan and Opulent Chest.

Derelict Leviathan Patrols & Nightmare Events

One of the main ways to get the Austringer Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 will be familiar to veteran players, as Bungie tasks you with going to the Derelict Leviathan Patrol area that was released alongside this new season. Once there, you’ll have to complete activities and Nightmare Events in the area to possibly get the exotic to drop.

This definitely seems to be the harder approach of the two, as the drop in this instance is far more random. The best bet if you’re trying this way is to deposit 500 “Vestige of Dread” after completing the final boss.

Opulent Chests

The Opulent Chest route is a much better bet for obtaining the Austringer Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted, as you’re guaranteed to get an Opulent (Menagerie) weapon from opening it. Granted, the drop could end up being an entirely different weapon, but it doesn’t hurt to try your luck.

You can obtain the first key for these chests from the Crown of Sorrow at H.E.L.M by completing the Leviathan Returns quest. Other keys can be picked up randomly via drops at the end of Nightmare Containment.
