According to the announcement, the game has shipped over 200,000 copies worldwide following the Japanese release for Nintendo Switch, which happened today.

This includes all versions, with only the PS4 and PC releases available in the west so far. Of course, both physical shipments to retailers and digital sales are counted.

It’s worth mentioning that Idea Factory International hasn’t said a word yet about a western release for Nintendo’s console. We’ll have to wait for further news on that. That being said, we’re at least getting the DLC shipgirls soon.

If you want to learn more about Azur Lane: Crosswave, you should definitely read the interview we published a while ago and our review.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Azur Lane franchise, it’s originally a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.

Recently, the game celebrated its third anniversary in Japan and you can check out the music video featuring popular musician T.M.Revolution and an anime-style trailer.

You can also enjoy the news about the next major event that will be released with tomorrow’s update of the mobile game.

If you’re curious about the franchise’s popularity in Japan, you can check out my report about the anniversary event from last year that pretty much literally invaded Akihabara.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
