How to Get Shark Cartilage & What It’s Used For in Outward

In the grueling fantasy open world survival game Outward, you’ll have to spend time familiarizing yourself with different crafting materials. To forge the best items and weapons in the game requires a fair bit of back and forth as you try and find the necessary components. Here’s how to get Shark Cartilage and what it’s used for in Outward.

Shark Cartilage is described as “Flexible tissue of a crescent shark, used to craft fast Ethereal weapons.” In brief, it’s a crafting material that you’re going to need to forge weapons such as the Crescent GreatAxe.

Right, that’s the easy part. Now you’ll need to track some down, and here’s where it gets a bit more tricky.

If you’re lucky, you might find some in the starting town, Cierzo. There’s a merchant near the town gates who sometimes carries stock of Shark Cartilage, but the stock does rotate in the game, so he could just as easily not have any when you go looking.

Otherwise, the only other place we’ve been able to locate Shark Cartilage is in Levent as part of a side quest.

One of the quests in Levent has you speak to Chef Tenno, who wants you to find shark cartilage. You can buy some from the caravaneer around the corner for 104 silver. Incidentally, once you give it to him to receive 4x Spicy Meringue.

That’s all the information we have about how to get Shark Cartilage and what it’s used for in Outward. We’ll update the guide with more locations as we play through the game. If you’ve found any other places to find it then sound off in the comment section below and we’ll add those too.
