My Time at Portia is all about making the most with what you have right around you, including Wild Cocoon. Here’s how to get Wild Cocoon, what’s it’s used for, what it is and what you can craft with it in My Time at Portia.

My Time at Portia is a game where you’re tasked with restoring your Pa’s workshop to its former glory. You’ll do so by crafting, farming and so much more, all while spending your days in the delightful town of Portia, a cartoonish-yet-beautiful and bright setting for your adventure.

Along the journey, you’ll need to craft a number of items to advance in the game, like a fishing rod. To do so, though, you’ll need a raw material known as Wild Cocoon.

What Wild Cocoon Is

Wild Cocoon is a raw material players can acquire in My Time at Portia. It’s exactly what it sounds like too.

It’s the cocoon of a caterpillar that can be spun into a silk product. It’s used in a number of items, both cosmetic like masks and practical like fishing rods, and it can be sold for a small bit of gold.

What It’s Used For

Wild Cocoon is used for a number of things in My Time at Portia, depending on your goals in the game. It can be used to craft practical items like the Fishing Rod. So, if you’re in need of fish, you’re going to need a fishing pole, and to get that you’re going to need Wild Cocoon.

It is also a large proponent of fun cosmetic items like masks and necklaces too, so if you’re looking to spice up your look, this raw material can help with that.

Beyond crafting, it doesn’t really have much use other than as a product you can sell. Don’t expect too much though as each one only yields four pieces of gold.

How to Get It

To get Wild Cocoon in My Time at Portia, you need to find a large tree. You should have large trees right outside of your home.

You’ll know you’ve found the right tree because each time you kick it, it drops green fruits, or gummy fruits that can be used to make tires.

The trees that drop these fruits are the same trees that have a chance to drop Wild Cocoon. So, once you’ve found one of these trees, begin kicking it. After a few kicks, it should drop some.

If after a lot of kicks no Wild Cocoon drops, then it’s time to bring out your axe. Chop the tree down and you should get some.

Another way to get this material comes later in the game. After you restore the Tree Farm, you can purchase Wild Cocoon for four gold pieces.

What You Can Craft With It in My Time at Portia

Here’s everything you can craft that needs Wild Cocoon:

  • Beginner’s Fishing Rod
  • Classic Fishing Rod
  • Panbat Mask
  • Crystal Necklace
  • Sleep Mask
  • Yellow Sapphire Necklace
  • Cloth

That’s it for out guide on Wild Cocoon in My Time at Portia, including what it is, what it’s used for, where to get it and what you can craft with it.
