How to Get Parts & What They’re Used for in Modern Warfare Remastered
Parts are one of the many different digital ‘currencies’ in Modern Warfare Remastered that you’ll use alongside CoD Points and Depot Credits. If you’re just diving into the game and you’re a little lost about what Parts are all about, fear not. Here’s how to get Parts in Modern Warfare Remastered and what they’re used for.
What Are Parts & Why You Should Care About Them
Parts are basically a currency enabling you to purchase a ton of different cosmetics in Modern Warfare Remastered. Be it a weapon camo, new combat uniform, or character altogether, these are what you’ll need to spend in order to unlock them.
You can check how many Parts you have in Modern Warfare Remastered by looking for the skull in a cog icon in the top right corner of your screen, as shown below.
The different cosmetic items you can purchase with this currency in Modern Warfare Remastered vary in price depending on what they are and their rarity level. As such, you’ll probably want to know how to get a bunch of Parts so you can buy anything that catches your eye right away.
How to Get Them in Modern Warfare Remastered
Simply put, Parts can be earned by opening Supply Drops from within the Depot. These Drops can be purchased with Depot Points and are essentially the game’s loot boxes, granting players a random selection of cosmetic items.
Depot Points can be earned by playing in Public Matches, so simply play some Modern Warfare Remastered and then eventually you’ll have enough to buy a Supply Drop or two.
These are the main way you’re going to get Parts in Modern Warfare Remastered. There are two ways you’ll earn these from Drops, these are as follows:
- Purchasing ‘Rare’ variants of Supply Drops will often net you a chunk of bonus Parts alongside your three standard cosmetics.
- Any cosmetic you earn from a Supply Drop that you already have will be labeled as ‘Duplicate Items’ and are crushed down into additional Parts.
The Best and Fastest Method to Farm Parts
By keeping that last point in mind, there’s a way you can farm Parts in Modern Warfare Remastered, but it will take some time on your part, too. First off, you’ll need to spend some time purchasing Supply Drops. However, rather than just buying whatever catches your eye, focus your purchases on Rare drops of a particular collection.
Currently, players can only purchase Drops of the following Collections:
- Copperhead
- Lion Strike
- Arctic Wolf
What you want to do is continue purchasing Rare Supply Drops of one of these types. Not only do the Rare variants drop ‘Bonus Parts’ as mentioned above, but you’re also guaranteed one rare item or better. You’ll also have a higher chance of getting Legendary and Epic items.
Every time you purchase a Rare Supply Drop from a certain collection, you’ll slowly but surely be filling it out. That means that the more Drops you open, the higher chance you theoretically have of getting more duplicate cosmetics, which will be broken down as Parts in Modern Warfare Remastered.
The amount you get from duplicate cosmetics depends on the rarity of the items, so going for the Rare drops means that you’ve got a better chance of getting duplicate Legendary and Epic items, meaning you’ll get more scrap Parts as a result.
Sure, it’ll take some grinding, but this is the best way to get Parts fast in Modern Warfare Remastered.
