The latest battle royale title has arrived in the form of Criterion Games and DICE’s Battlefield V Firestorm. If you want to highlight a location or alert a teammate to a nearby weapon or item, you’re in the right place. Here’s how to place markers and ping items in Firestorm.

Depending on whether you want to ping a nearby item’s location to a teammate (or just future you), or simply mark a location on your map and within the game world with a big ol’ marker, you’ll need to go through different steps. We’ve broken these out down below.

How to Ping Items in Firestorm

To ping items and locations within your nearby vicinity in Firestorm, you’ll want to press Q on PC or RB or R1 on Xbox One and PS4. Doing so will alert all of your teammates to the weapon or item that you opted to ping.

Alternatively, if you want to place markers in Firestorm, for example on the other side of the map or within the safety of the shrinking circle, you’ll need to open up your map.

This can be done by pressing the touchpad on PS4, View button on Xbox One, or press M on PC. Once your map is open, you’ll then simply need to left click on a location or highlight it with your reticle and press R1 or RB on PS4 and Xbox One to place the marker wherever your reticle is currently on the map.

Again, in doing this, you’ll place a visible marker for everyone in your squad. Both pinging items and placing markers in Firestorm is a particularly useful feature if you’re playing with strangers and verbal communication, for one reason or another, isn’t possible.

That’s all you need to know on how to place markers and ping items in Firestorm. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our Battlefield V Firestorm wiki widget on this page.
