Best Upcoming Switch Games for March 2019
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! (March 20)
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! (what a name) is a re-release of 2007’s Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Dungeon, and we already know it’s going to be a great fit for the Nintendo Switch.
This is essentially a JRPG where you take control of the iconic chocobo and go dungeon-diving with your fellow feathered buddies. Your chocobos can also take on classic Final Fantasy jobs and classes like Dark Knight, White Mage, and Machinist.
Combat plays out as kind of a turn-based affair where enemies will only move or take actions as you do. This means that you’ll always have time to think about what you want to do next and plan your moves carefully. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon also features co-op play where you can explore dungeons with a friend.

Unravel Two (March 22)
Unravel Two was a bit of a surprise release last year, when EA dropped it on us with little build-up. However, it’s also a very worthy follow-up to the first game.
In Unravel Two, you’ll take control of the red yarn toy, aptly named Yarny, once again. Featuring realistic looking backgrounds and environments, Unravel Two is a seriously pretty game that just oozes with charm.
Your main goal is to move across a 2D plane while solving environmental puzzles to get to the next portion, and the game also features some very light platforming elements. The nice thing about Unravel Two is that you get to play the game with a friend, who can take control of a blue yarn toy instead.
If you missed the game when it released on the other consoles and PC last year, the Switch port could be a good one to look out for.
Best Upcoming Switch Games for March 2019
Final Fantasy VII (March 26)
It’s Final Fantasy season for the Nintendo Switch, and we couldn’t be more excited. Whether you’ve played it already, Final Fantasy VII is easily one of the best upcoming Switch games releasing in March 2019.
While its title as the best game in the Final Fantasy series is certainly debatable, its quality is undeniable, and it still holds up remarkably well today. Except for the graphics, which looked really awkward and ugly even during the PS1 era, and they certainly don’t look very flattering now.
However, Final Fantasy VII’s combat system continues to be simple, yet effective. The ATB system is fantastic, and FFVII also features the materia equipment system that allows you to spec out your party as you please. The soundtrack is timeless, and the story remains every bit as compelling as you might’ve remembered it from the 90s.

Yoshi’s Crafted World (March 29)
Yoshi’s finally going to get his big debut on the Nintendo Switch this month with the release of Yoshi’s Crafted World.
The story begins when Kamek and Baby Bowser hatch a plan to steal a precious artifact, but things go awry when the gems go flying everywhere, and it’s up to Yoshi to go gather them up again.
Nintendo promises that there will be a ton of collectibles and hidden items to find in Yoshi’s Crafted World. Aside from just going through stages normally, exploring the environments and defeating enemies, these stages can also be played backwards, offering players a new perspective on familiar areas.
Aside from that, Yoshi’s Crafted World also has local multiplayer support, where you can just pass a Joy-Con to a friend, and they’ll be able to join you on your adventure. As the major Switch release of March 2019, this one is worth keeping an eye on if you’re looking for a new co-op game to dive into.
