When Fortnite Season 8 Starts and Season 7 Ends
With Fortnite’s week 9 challenges now live in Season 7, and players madly rushing about to get the various prison keys for the Prisoner skin, chances are some of you may be wondering when the next season will arrive and what theme it brings. We don’t know what’s next, but we do know when it’ll arrive. Here’s when Fortnite Season 8 starts.
At this moment in time, Epic Games has yet to officially confirm the Fortnite Season 8 start date, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible to figure it out ourselves. At the time of writing (Feb. 7), the upcoming set of weekly challenges will be the week 10 challenges.
Each Fortnite season is made up of 10 weeks, and so with these being the final set of weekly challenges, we know that the Fortnite Season 8 start date should technically drop at some point next week. At least, that’s how Season end dates have panned out in previous seasons. This time, it’s different, though.
According to the little countdown timer to the end of Season 7 in Fortnite itself, there’s still another 20 days left of Season 7. That would technically mean that we’re looking at a Season 8 start date of Feb. 28.
This does seem a little odd, though, especially with the final set of weekly challenges due to drop today, Feb. 7. As such, we’d normally see a Season 8 start date on Feb. 14, however, Epic might have something up its sleeve between now and Feb. 28 to send Season 7 off in style.
If Epic Games does throw us off, however, and opts to release Fortnite Season 8 on a different date, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
