Can You Choose to Be Jumpmaster in Apex Legends? What You Need to Know
Apex Legends sees players drop down in teams of three unique characters called Legends. Each armed with a range of powerful abilities, these Legends will drop down onto the map to be the last team standing. Some players may be wondering if there’s any way to choose to be Jumpmaster in Apex Legends. Here’s what you need to know.
Unfortunately, we have to be the bearers of bad news this time around. At this moment in time, it is not possible to choose to be Jumpmaster in Apex Legends.
For those unaware what the Jumpmaster even is, let us explain. In each team of three, one person will be designated the Jumpmaster. This essentially gives them the power to determine when their entire team jumps out of the plane and out onto the map below.
While other members of your team can put forward suggestions of where to land, it’s ultimately down to the Jumpmaster to make the decision. Kind of makes sense why it’s such a sought-after title to have within your team now, doesn’t it?
From our time spent with Apex Legends, it appears as though the player who chooses their Legend (character) last on their team will become the designated Jumpmaster for that round. Sadly, the order in which players choose their Legends appears to be random.
If anything changes regarding this, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.

Question: Can you choose to be Jumpmaster in Apex Legends?
Answer: This role is responsible for deciding when the entire team jumps out of the aircraft and down onto the map. Unfortunately, from our experience with the game, it doesn’t appear as though you can choose. The third player to choose their Legend on your team is automatically made the Jumpmaster, and the order appears to be random.
