The Masked Singer: Who the Alien Is

Here’s Who We Think the Alien Is

Recommended Videos

The Masked Singer, a show where celebrities don crazy costumes in an attempt to hide their identity, recently began and it’s already the talk of cable TV. Here’s who the Alien is in The Masked Singer.

During the second episode of The Masked Singer, which aired Wednesday, Jan. 9, there were six mystery celebrity performances. This episode saw those six celebrities split up into three groups of two.

Within each group, the two celebrities had to perform in a sing-off. The loser of each sing-off would be at risk of elimination.

In one of the sing-offs, we saw the Alien sing “Feel It Still” by Portugal. The Man against the Rabbit.

Judge Robin Thicke believes the Alien to be Bella Hadid while Nicole Scherzinger picked up some hints of Britney Spears.

However, looking outside of the show, one celebrity fits the mold better than most.

The clues we know for the Alien is that this artist has a gold album and loves vegetables. We also have these three clues:

  • “In my family, anonymity is a completely alien concept”
  • “I let others define me but no one will ever control me again”
  • “Growing up in the public’s eye, my life was never really my own”

With all of this in mind, we believe the Alien on The Masked Singer is Miley Cyrus.

Let’s talk about why.

First off, Cyrus has multiple albums that have hit gold certification and she’s vegan, which means she probably really loves eating vegetables.

Things begin to get more telling with the clue quotes.

The Cyrus family really lacks any sort of anonymity. Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus is quite famous for having an Achy Breaky Heart. Her sister, Noah Cyrus, seems to be following in the singer tracks her sister Miley and her dad Billy laid out before her, and finally, there’s Miley Cyrus, who we already know is famous.

Furthermore, the matriarch of the family, Tish Cyrus, is quite famous too, an actress and producer herself.

The next quote speaks to Miley Cyrus’ Disney upbringing. Working for Disney and having to keep up a constant Disney-appropriate persona is likely quite taxing and from Cyrus’ end, it likely felt like she had no control over who she was.

Even her hit Disney show, Hannah Montana, juggled themes of anonymity and personas, and how those relate to one’s control over their life.

The last quote, which is about growing up in the public’s eye, speaks to Cyrus’ Disney upbringing as well. Think about it. We’ve seen Cyrus in the public eye since her Hannah Montana start back in 2006.

For these same reasons, though, the Alien could also be La toya Jackson, a member of the Jackson family. Jackson has a gold record, is a vegetarian and, similar to Cyrus, is a part of an extremely famous family who is always in the public eye.

Who the Alien really is, only time will tell.

We’ll be sure to update the post when we find out exactly who the Alien is when it’s revealed on the show. You can watch The Masked Singer every Wednesday on Fox at 9:00 p.m. ET.
