Yesterday, Ubisoft teased a brand new Far Cry game to be revealed this evening at The Game Awards, but nowadays secrets rarely remain such for long on the internet. Enter Far Cry: New Dawn.
The title was revealed today with the leak of the game’s cover art, which was spotted out in the wild.
The cover also confirms (in case there was any need for that) the post-apocalyptic setting, and possibly hints to a female protagonist, even if it’s difficult to be sure from a single illustration.
Looking at the environment looks like we’ll be back to Hope County, which was the setting of Far Cry 5. The game’s ending certainly proved polarizing due to its sudden nature but looks like the good folks at Ubisoft planned this all along.
Interestingly, this reveal comes at a time in which another rather prominent post-apocalyptic franchise has fallen a bit out of grace with a portion of its fans due to a certain online entry which proved disappointing. It’ll be interesting to see if this Far Cry will capitalize on that.
For now, we can only wait for the full reveal this evening at The Game Awards. Of course, you’ll be able to read all about it here on Twinfinite.
In the meanwhile, if you’re interested in the franchise, you can read our review of Far Cry 5.
