During the ceremony of The Game Awards hosted today in Los Angeles, Capcom revealed a brand new trailer, screenshots, and information on its upcoming action game Devil May Cry 5.

First and foremost, we get the news of a demo that will be released tomorrow, December 7th, exclusively on Xbox One.

We also hear that the Bloody Palace will be released as a free update in April 2019. That’s certainly a nice bonus on the level of pure fanservice.

On top of that, we also hear that the game will have an online co-op feature called Cameo system. Players will make guest cameo appearances in other player’s game in real time, or via ghost data gameplay recordings.

The developer stressed that the game is first and foremost single player, so they made sure that the experience remains smooth at all times. Once the cameo ends, you’ll be able to rate the other player as “stylish,” which will, in turn, provide them with rewards. Do keep in mind that there are missions in the game which will be strictly single player and won’t feature the Cameo mode at all.

Players offline will still see the Cameos but they will feature ghost data recorded by the developers.

Now we know why the developers were being coy about a public demo a few days ago.

At the moment there is no information at all on whether a demo will come to other platforms, but the announcement did mention that this is the “first” demo, so there might be more, and those could be multiplatform.
