Here is everything you need to know about how to unlock Izanami Forge in Destiny 2.

The third fire is lit in the Black Armory, as the Izanami Forge has officially gone live in Destiny 2. Just like previous ones, players will be able to craft unique and powerful pieces of equipment at this newest forge.

The Izanami Forge is a bit more challenging to unlock than the previous Black Armory areas – Gofannon Forge and Volundr Forge – though, as you’ll need to complete a handful of different tasks in order to unlock it.

To get things started, you’ll have to obtain a Vex Transponder. Like a lot of enemy specific loot, this item can be found by defeating Vex, which will drop it at random.

Once you’ve obtained the transponder, the next step involves charging it up. Simply defeat 100 total Vex to activate it and you’ll be ready to trigger the public event in the Hallows on Nessus.

Hallows on Nessus

Travel to Nessus and head to the Arcadian Valley area and you’ll come upon the Hallows on Nessus. With transponder full, a Heroic Spire Integration public event can now be triggered.

As a team, activate the three plates surrounding the Spire. This will be detailed by glowing trails that split in three different ways, each leading to a different capture zone.

Once completed, your next task is simply to kill 20 Vex Minotaurs. This objective is enclosed to a specific area but can be done pretty easily by completing the mission “Release.”

“Release” has a pretty straightforward goal, as it requires you to just clear out a room full of enemies. You can play this multiple times and farm the many Vex Minotaurs that pop up throughout the mission.

Izanami Forge

Now that you’ve fulfilled the prerequisites, the Izanami Forge mission will finally be available to play. Complete the mission, which has a power level recommendation of 630, and it’ll reward your Guardian with a broken Izanami Forge Igniter.

Head to the Tower and take the broken Izanami Forge Igniter to Ada-1, the head of the Black Armory. The Exo states players must beat three heroic public events: Glimmer Extraction, Witches’ Ritual, and Spire Integration.

While these can be found in multiple places spread throughout Destiny 2, there are a couple of well-known spots for each.

Glimmer Extraction usually pops up the most in the EDZ and the Witches’ Ritual is easily found on Titan. For Spire Integration, simply head back to Nessus and complete the same event you did earlier in the Hallows.

After completing these events, the Igniter will now go from “Broken” to “Refurbished.” The quest list now asks you to gather Blended Ether, Condensed Blights, and Radiolarian Vapor.

  • To get Blended Ether, defeat Fallen with precision multi-kills.
  • Condensed Blights is earned by killing Taken Blights in the Lost Sectors on Io.
  • For Radiolarian Vapor, head to Nessus and complete the mission known as the “Investigation on Nessus.”

Repower the Ignition

The second to last step in to activate the third forge in Destiny 2 requires players to fully repair the Ignition. To do so, you’ll have to go back to the Volundr Forge and do the reignition process again.

Bring the fully refurbished Izanami Igniter to Ada-1 to unlock a harder version of the Insight Terminus strike. Once you complete the strike, players now have access to the Izanami Forge.

That is everything you need to know about how to unlock Izanami Forge in Destiny 2. Be sure to check our Destiny 2 wiki for more information on Destiny 2 and the Forsaken expansion.
