Resident Evil 2 Remake, xbox one game releases in January 2019

As 2018 drifts into but a memory, it’s time to get excited about all of the Xbox One games heading to Microsoft’s system in 2019. We’re going to focus specifically on those games currently slated for a January 2019 release on the Xbox One.

It might not offer quite as many top-tier titles as the past few months have, but there are still a number of noteworthy titles to tide you over until the busier month of February.

Kicking things off on Jan. 11 is the release of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. Packing in all of the exclusive content found in the PS3 version of the game, as well as an entirely new character, new cutscenes, and, of course, remastered visuals, this is definitely one Xbox One game that should be on the radars of JRPG fans.

Just a matter of days later, Skybound Interactive will release episode three of what was formerly Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Telling the story of an older and more mature Clem as she looks after AJ and meets a number of kids around her age, the episode, titled Broken Toys, will likely see us dive deeper into the chaos that emerged at the end of the last episode.

If episodic games are all your jam, then you’ll be spoiled on the Xbox One in January 2019, as Life Is Strange 2’s second episode, Rules, releases just over a week later.

Its opening episode introduced us to the Diaz brothers, whose brotherly dynamic we personally felt to be its strongest asset. It’ll be interesting to see how this evolves further as the story moves forward, especially with the Diaz brothers now out in the wild and on the run.

Just a day later, Capcom brings Resident Evil 2 remake to the Xbox One, too. As was the case in the original, the remake will see players explore the streets of Raccoon City, albeit from a new over-the-should view. The whole thing is running in a new engine, too, so you can expect improved visuals and generally better-feeling gameplay, too.

Last but certainly not least is the title that almost every gamer has been counting down the days to – Kingdom Hearts III. Over 13 years after the release of Kingdom Hearts II, players finally get the next entry in the series and will explore Disney worlds like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Frozen, alongside the return of some of the classics, too.

If you’ve ever wanted a Disney RPG, this is quite literally the perfect title for you. And hey, you’ve still pretty much got a month until it releases, so you can always try working your way through its predecessors and get caught up with the story if you need something to pass the time.
