While Xbox 360 players had the luxury of experiencing this beloved JRPG in its prime, PlayStation and Nintendo fans were unable to play Tales of Vesperia because of its exclusivity deal with Microsoft. This makes the remaster all the more enticing for those who did not own an Xbox 360 when the game initially launched in August 2008.

As the trailer has not been translated to English yet, it may be wise for Western fans to wait for an official sub or dub of the trailer, but it is available to watch for those interested, regardless of language barrier.

Besides detailing parts of the story, the trailer offers another look at the remastered graphics of the game. Both the anime cutscenes, as well as real-time gameplay are showcased with the fresh coat of paint received in this definitive edition of the popular Tales of title. The higher resolution allows for the anime-style graphics the series is known for to pop much more than the original 2008 installment.

The remaster is touted as a celebration of the tenth anniversary of Tales of Vesperia, which will feature content that was previously unaccessible in Western regions, such as new characters and costumes. In addition, the game will reportedly feature two brand new playable party members by the names of Patty Fleu and Flynn Scifo.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will release on Jan. 11, 2019. You can check out the previous reveal trailer right here.
