Pokemon Let’s Go: How to Redeem Mystery Gifts

How to Redeem Mystery Gifts in Pokemon Let’s Go

Recommended Videos

Receiving mystery gifts is one of the many ways to obtain some of the most elusive Pokemon in any given game. Here’s how to redeem mystery gifts in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu.

For the uninitiated, mystery gifts are a way for players to obtain special (and usually timed-exclusive) Pokemon. Players can do this by redeeming download codes, purchasing a Poke Ball Plus to get Mew, or connecting wirelessly to official events.

In all of these cases, the player that redeems a mystery gift will get some sort of special Pokemon that they usually won’t be able to find in the game. In the case of Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu, that’s Mew, which is only available via mystery gift to those who purchased the $50 Pokeball Plus.

To redeem mystery gifts in Pokemon Let’s Go, you’ll be doing what you’ve always done. We’ve listed these steps out for you below in bullet points, and then in more detail down below should you need it.

  • Start up Pokemon Let’s Go
  • Once you’ve got the game launched, load up your save.
  • Press X to open up the in-game menu.
  • Select the ‘Communicate’ option. If you don’t see this yet, you haven’t progressed far enough in the game.
  • Select Mystery Gifts and then choose which method you’re using to redeem your Mystery Gift.
  • When redeeming Mew from the Poke Ball Plus, if you have an empty spot in your party, the cute pink ‘mon will be added into your party automatically.

The first step is the most obvious one: start the game. Once you’ve got the game launched, load up your save. It doesn’t really matter where you are in the game, but a town or building are safer than somewhere in the wild where a Pokemon might run into you.

Once free, press X to open up the in-game menu. You should see a number of options like Party, Bag and Communicate. The latter is what you’re looking for.

If you don’t see Communicate, it’s because you haven’t progressed far enough in the game yet. Fear not, though, as you don’t have to progress too far. You only need to have beaten your rival for the first time in a Pokemon battle.

After doing that, the Communicate option should be available for you to select on the screen.

Select Communicate and then select Mystery Gifts. In this menu, you should see a number of options — Get via Internet, Get with code password, Get with a Poke Ball Plus and Check Mystery Gifts.

If you’re trying to obtain a Mystery Gift in Pokemon Let’s Go, which it seems you are considering you’re here, the only option that will actually get you a Mystery Gift at this point is Get with a Poke Ball Plus.

Select it and as long as your Poke Ball Plus is synced with the game, you’ll be notified that there is a present available for you. Select the option to receive and Mew will be yours.
