Kingdom Two Crowns will officially launch on Dec. 11 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, publisher Raw Fury announced today. Said to be “the most extensive undertaking of Kingdom […] ever attempted”, this third entry aims to shake things up a bit for the series. Two Crowns will not only launch with a revamped version of its original medieval setting but also include a brand new Japan-inspired campaign named Kingdom Two Crowns: Shogun. On top of that, additional environments are planned to come post-launch. According to the announcement, they won’t be mere reskins, but “settings that offer different strategies to ruling in Kingdom.”.
The permadeath mechanic present in past entries has been overhauled as part of “a new campaign style where death will still be your best teacher but you won’t be punished as severely as before.”. Kingdom Two Crowns will also let players experience its campaign alongside a friend. Couch co-op will be available on all platforms at launch, with online co-op coming to all except the Nintendo Switch, which is currently being looked into. Xbox One owners can also get Kingdom Two Crowns as part of December’s Xbox Game Pass.
Since the original released back in 2015, the side-scrolling strategy series has sold more than 3 million copies. Kingdom Two Crowns launches on Dec. 11 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
