Free Games in December 2018
PS Plus
The free games available to PS Plus members aren’t all that crazy either, but there are still some quality gems to look out for in December 2018.
To start with, there’s Soma, which is easily one of the most engaging psychological horror games we’ve played in the past few years. It plays out rather similarly to the likes of Amnesia and Outlast, where you’re mostly exploring a creepy environment while piecing together clues about what really happened. It’s a deep dive (literally, because the game’s set underwater) into the main character’s mental state as well, and we definitely came away impressed with this one.
If you’re into racing games, Onrush will also be available for download this month. The game was released earlier this year, and we loved it as well. It’s not quite as shiny and polished as games like Forza Horizon 4, but it captures a sense of chaos that we hardly see in other games of the same genre.
Other than that, Iconoclasts and Papers, Please will also be up for grabs. One is a cute pixel art-style adventure game, while the other is a hard-hitting border control simulation game about poverty, authoritarian governments, and all that nice, fun stuff.
