Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map: How to Solve the Quest & Get the Treasure

Recommended Videos

You’ll be doing a lot of treasure hunts as you journey across the wilderness of Red Dead Redemption 2 and its massive open world. One such quest is the Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map, which takes you on a bit of a trek around Amarino. But as you’d expect, it’s worth the journey, rewarding you with plenty of loot and riches that you can use to purchase new gear. It’s not terribly easy to find based off the picture alone, though, so if you’re needing some help with how to solve the Jack Hall Gang treasure map quest, here’s how to get the treasure.

How to Get the Treasure Map

For starters, it’s worth pointing out that this particular hunt won’t be available until you’ve completed the first chapter of Red Dead Redemption 2. You are required to have set up camp at Horseshoe at the start of chapter 2.

After you’ve done that, set a waypoint on top of the hill West of Flatneck Station and North of the Bard’s Crossing bridge. This is where the map is located.

You’re looking for an explorer, who will tell you of his success with the ladies, as well as a map that he’s not been able to use for lack of time. Purchase the map from him for $10 and that will begin the questline.

Now it’s time to find the treasure.

Where to Find the Jack Hall Gang Treasure

Pull out the map and notice the designation “Caliban’s Seat,” located south of Valentine. If you then look northeast with your binoculars from the same cliff edge where you met the explorer, you should see it in the distance. You’ll want to set a map marker for Caliban’s Seat before riding towards it.

Once you’ve arrived, head up the path on the East side of the rocks (the ‘S’ in Caliban’s). You’ll then see a path to follow, which will lead to a ledge on the right. Traverse across the gap and then climb over the stone to the side.

On the other side, keep moving forward along the narrow edge until you’re prompted to search. Voila! The second part of the map.

The new map will present clues to you, which you’ll need to ride to Cotorra Springs to solve. The location is north of Cumberland Forest and Fort Wallace.

You’re looking for a formation of stones, which is sandwiched between the “O” and “R” of Cotorra on the map. Hey, presto! Another map.

The next clue points toward west in O’Creagh’s Run. It’s quite a distance away, north of Three Sisters and west of Annesburg.

You should immediately see the lake when you arrive here, and standing on the shoreline notice a small boat. Hop in and paddle out the island in the middle of the lake. Landing on the island, there’s a rock on the lower side, and lifting that will reveal two gold bars.

The gold bars are worth a pretty penny – $1000 each, to be precise. Use them to upgrade your horse or buy some fancy new weapon upgrades to help you on your way in Red Dead Redemption 2.

That’s all you need to know about how to solve the Jack Hall gang treasure map quest to get the treasure in Red Dead Redemption 2. For more useful information and guides on the game, be sure to check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 guide wiki.
