PS PLUS PREDICTIONS FOR OCTOBER 2018
Indies
Along with one or two larger games, usually a couple indies make the PS Plus list every month as well. For October 2018 we suspect puzzle game Papers, Please from Lucas Pope would be a fitting inclusion.
Originally releasing on PC in 2013 and iOS in 2014, a port to the PS Vita came a few years later in late 2017. In it you play as a border crossing immigration officer in the fictional country of Arstotzka who has to decide what citizen passports and paperwork are legitimate based on visual cues and rules. It would be a good fit for PS Plus because not only was it a well-received and critically acclaimed indie title, it also released specifically on the PS Vita and Sony loves including PS Vita titles on the free games lists to keep owners of the portable consoles happy, especially considering Sony will be dropping PS3 and PS Vita games from PS Plus lineups sometime in 2019.
Another possible indie inclusion is Everybody’s Golf from Clap Hanz and SIE Japan Studio. It released exclusively on the PS4 in 2017, and features multiplayer gameplay modes so you can play golf against other players online. This would be a great pick because it is both a sports game, which Sony loves to feature on PS Plus, and has online functionality on the PS4. Adding it as a free game is a perfect way to bump the player count of a Sony exclusive title that would encourage past purchasers to revisit the game since its 2017 release.
Make sure to check back with Twinfinite in the next week or so for the official reveal from Sony of the PS Plus free games line-up for October 2018.
