NBA 2K19: How to Upgrade Your Player

How to Upgrade Your Player in NBA 2K19

Recommended Videos

NBA 2K19 is the latest iteration of 2K’s popular basketball sim game, and it’s better than ever. As per usual, the game comes with a MyCareer mode, along with the ability for you to create your very own basketball player and upgrade them however you like. Through this process, you can manage their stats, badges, and skills, and shape them into the ideal player you want to be on the court. Here’s what you need to know to upgrade your player in NBA 2K19.

Before you actually do anything, though, you need to make sure that you’ve got some VC to spare. This is NBA 2K19’s form of virtual premium currency, and you can either purchase them with real money, or earn them by completing matches in the game itself. Once you’ve got yourself some VC, hit the triangle button (or Y if you’re on Xbox One) to bring up the main menu. Go over to the Attributes menu, and you’ll find a whole bunch of attributes that you can level up via spending VC.

You can also upgrade your player by getting badges, which are obtained in a variety of different ways. For instance, getting the Pick and Roller badge requires you to call for and execute 100 pick and rolls. This badge will help improve the awareness of the roller during a pick and roll, making things a little easier for you. So, aside from just dumping VC into all of your stats, take a look at your available badges as well, and try completing the challenges to earn more.

For the most part, we recommend saving up your VC for leveling attributes in NBA 2K19 instead of cosmetics; you’ll be able to see substantial improvements more quickly.

And there you have what you need to know to upgrade your player in the game. Be sure to check our wiki for more information and tips on NBA 2K19.
