Destiny 2 Forsaken: All Weekly Ascendent Challenge Locations

All Weekly Ascendent Challenge Locations in Destiny 2 Forsaken

Recommended Videos

Each week in Destiny 2: Forsaken, players can take on things called an Ascendent Challenge, which are “secret” events that players can access while under the effect of Queensfoil. Queensfoil allows you to see things you wouldn’t see normally while exploring The Dreaming City, and that includes massive Taken portals that will transport you to a brand new area.

The location of these portals change weekly. In other words, a portal that you were sure was there last week, probably was, but can now be in a different location as The Dreaming City rotates through its changes with every weekly reset.

Here are all the possible weekly Ascendent Challenge locations so you can complete Petra’s bounties and get some sweet legendary and powerful gear. They are labeled by “week.” So week 1 is the start of the rotation, which coincided with the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken. At the time of this writing we’re in week 2, and we’ll continue adding to this guide until the new locations stop appearing, and we reach the end of the rotation and the start of a new one. If you’re not sure what “week” we’re up to, let us know in the comment section and we’ll help you out.

Remember, to see any of these portals, you must have used Queensfoil. Check out our guide for that if you need more.

Week 1 Ascendent Challenge Location: In the Lost Sector, Aphelion’s Rest near Petra, a portal will appear about half way through while under the effect of Queensfoil.

For this challenge, you will need to circle around the area and defeat all of the Blights until you get a message about an opportunity. Then, return to the center location and destroy all of the crystals that are now vulnerable to complete this challenge. We do not recommend fighting anything unless you must, and especially avoid the large Knights. Just keep moving and jumping.

Week 2 Ascendent Challenge Location: In the Gardens of Esila, there exists a portal. Head to the circular plaza area and pop the Queensfoil. Walk over to nearby cliffside where there are some floating islands, and you shouldn’t miss the giant portal there if it’s available that week.

For this challenge, you’ll need to collect orb charges that are scattered on the corners of the map. When you grab one, return it to the center location where there is a blight pond of sorts that you can slam it down in. Be careful to avoid the Taken Phalanx that are guarding the pond. Also, there will be blights that, if you get too close, will inflict you with a touch of darkness, and will prevent you from running or jumping. Don’t walk into those.

Once you’ve returned all of the orbs to the center, a well of light will appear that will continually charge your super whenever you jump into it. Use this to kill the three Knights that appear to complete the challenge. Again, don’t fight anything until the Knights. Even when you fight them, try to use a super that you can use from the air such as the Sunbreaker’s hammers, or the Dawnblade’s sword attacks, rather than ones where you need to get up close and personal to those Knights, such as the Striker.
