Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Sept. 14)

Lara Croft has long been an icon in the video games world, with her humble beginnings sprouting on the original PlayStation all those years ago. Despite becoming a powerhouse protagonist overnight, the series waned over time, and eventually was taken on by Square Enix’s Crystal Dynamics in an attempt to reboot it and give Lara a fresh breath of life.

Roll around to 2018, and Crystal Dynamics has done exactly that twice now, with the Tomb Raider reboot releasing to critical acclaim in 2012, and Rise of the Tomb Raider upping the ante three years later.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks set to see Lara finally complete her transition from the young and scared archaeologist we saw at the beginning of 2012’s release, to the hardened adventurer and killer that fans know her as. And all this while she tries to save the world from a Mayan apocalypse. Lara’s come a really long way, and we can’t wait to go tomb raiding with her again on Sept. 14.
